St. Paul's United Church

We're open more than just Sundays!

We gather throughout the week in specialty groups
to enrich your faith journey.
Here are the ways that you can get involved.

Bible Study

Explore our most sacred text more deeply in our Bible Study. Join in a wide-ranging discussion of scripture. Bring your own Bible or borrow one at the church. We will be approaching the text using the knowledge and experience we have gained in our own lives. There are two opportunities to join the discussion. Thursdays at 11:00 a.m.  in the Parlour, or Mondays at 8:00 p.m. via Zoom.

Note: this is a drop in style, each session is self contained  Please email Rev Kirsty if you are interested in joining the evening group in order to get the link. revkirsty@gmail.com

Theological Studies

Theology is “faith seeking understanding.”
In these session we use two texts: our lives and an agreed book.
This session the book we are reading is How to Read the Bible and Still Be a Christian, by John Dominic Crossan.
How2ReadtheBible StllBChrisian
We meet on Tuesdays
from 7-8:30pm

Each session will be led by a different participant in the group, though you are not required to lead a session to participate. There are 15 sessions so you may not be able to attend every one.
Please do not let that be a barrier to participation.

Every discussion is unique. Everyone is welcome.

Congregational Life

Save the date for

Prayer Shawl Group

Life gives us moments of laughter and joy; pain and struggle and a lot of things in between.  Whether you are celebrating a wonderful event in your life, or grieving the loss of a loved one, a prayer shawl is to remind you that we are wrapped in God’s love.  They are a gift from St. Paul’s to let people know we are thinking of them and praying for them. Each one comes with a prayer….”May God’s grace be upon this shawl, warming, comforting, enfolding and embracing.  May the one who receives this shawl be cradled in hope, kept in joy, graced with peace and wrapped with love.”

If you would like a shawl then make arrangements to meet at the church or pick one up on Sunday morning after worship.

If you would like to be a knitter, the prayer shawl size is 24″ x 60″. This allows it to be folded in half and put over the knees of someone in a wheelchair. Plain or multicolour, we have lots of yarn.

United Church Women (U.C.W.)

ucw log1

The United Church Women (UCW)
was created in 1962 from two groups – the Women’s Missionary Society and the Ladies’ Auxiliary, thus combining the focus of these two organizations, being local church work and mission work.  They meet monthly to study, plan projects and for fellowship.  They are a major fundraiser in our church, through funeral receptions, garage sales, goodie box and pie sales.

The UCW at St. Paul’s is a small group of dedicated women endeavoring to keep the group going. COVID has had a great impact on our membership numbers.  The UCW continues to be strong supporters of the Mission and Service fund, the Guest House Shelter and the Salvation Army Food Bank.

We meet in the Parlour on the second Tuesday of each month (except July and August) at 1:30 p.m.
Come join us!

Men’s Breakfast

All men are welcome to join together, to touch base, share faith and laughter and just connect.
We meet the last Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m. at Mom’s Restaurant.
Come and join us.
All men are welcome!
