Custodian Job Posting:   St. Paul’s United Church, Midland, ON
St. Paul’s United Church Midland is a busy downtown church serving a large congregation and many community organizations. The purpose of this position is to keep St. Paul’s building and grounds clean, safe and well maintained for the enjoyment of all who use them.
The Custodian is accountable to the Lead Minister for day to day operations, e.g. preparation for/cleanup after church and community events held at St. Paul’s; and to the Chair of the Property Committee on matters of property/equipment maintenance, safety and security, minor repairs and cleaning/maintenance supplies inventory management.   The Ministry and Personnel Committee (M&P) reviews performance, addresses grievances or concerns, and assists in resolving issues brought to its attention.
 
This position works 25 hours per week at the hourly rate of $15 per hour. The Probation Period is six months, with an interim review after three months. Benefits and pension are included. Maintaining a clear Vulnerable Persons Record Check is condition of (ongoing) employment.
The successful candidate will have a background which includes:
·    WHIMIS certification 2018 and other relevant certifications/training
·    Demonstrated experience cleaning and maintaining large public buildings or commercial properties and keeping their equipment and facilities in good repair
·    Successful Vulnerable Persons Record Check
·    Physical capacity to undertake tasks such as gardening, painting, working off ladders and all cleaning tasks as described above
·    Managing garbage and recycling according to Simcoe County Waste Management requirements
